We’ve gathered some top tips from all the people at Glow-worm to recommend other ways in which we can save energy at home and try to be a little greener:
• Don’t leave appliances on standby
• Don’t leave your mobile phone charge plugged in
• Fit your doors with draft excluders
• Try to turn down your thermostat (even 1 degree will help!)
• Get fully lined curtains to fit the window
• Switch lights off when you leave a room
• Change your light bulbs to energy saving ones
It’s worth spending a moment to look at other good websites to get ideas on how you can save energy and help the environment. Some of our favourites are www.energysavingtrust.org.uk and www.carbonfootprint.com

What a shame there’s no reference to EFFECTIVE CONTROLS as a practical way to save energy.
Back to topBut then – the current Glow-worm range doesn’t actually supportsuch things as weather compensators anyway, so I guess you’ll have to rely on old stand-bys :=) and / or turning down the room stat manually.
Oh well,…..

Hi John
Effective controls of course play a major role in saving energy at home, as do energy efficient boilers.
I’m sure you’ll agree however that it is also important that we ALL try to do our bit for the environment by changing to energy saving light bulbs, turning equipment off standby etc.
Every little helps!
Sally
