I have recently bought the Ultracom2 30 cxi along with the Climapro (wired) control unit. In the installation booklets for both they don’t seem to say the same thing about how to wire them. I’m a little confused and so is my electrician, could anyone explain the correct way to wired this up? Thanks in advance

Out of interest how come the wireless Climapro RF has been updated to the Climapro2 RF but the original wired Climapro hasn’t? Are you going to be releasing a Climapro2 (wired version)?

Hi Ian – thanks for your enquiry. At the moment we have no plans to release a wired verion of Climapro. The Climapro RF was indeed updated to allow more flexibility on installation. If you need any further information please contact the team on 01773 828100

UPDATE: Our ultracom 2 is now fitted along with the wired Climapro, everything works fine. We are very pleased with how quiet the bolier is, how hot the rads are and how long they stay hot. Maybe that has something to do with the system having a power flush though as recommended by our plumber.
I find that there is one niggly issue, when wanting to turn the central heating on manually using the wall control panal (Climapro) you first have to switch the control over to ‘timed’ mode before switching it to ‘manual’. Surely it would of been easier to have a manual override no matter which mode you are in? Also, when you switch the boiler off manual you then have to switch it back to the ‘OFF’ mode otherwise it would stay in the ‘timed’ mode, which is an issue in the Summer months.
Does the Climapro2 RF overcome these short falls?

Hi Ian – Yes that is correct. The original Climapro has been designed to work in this way, however, the Climapro 2 RF doesn’t. You can over ride this by pressing 2 buttons and it doesn’t matter if it is on timed or not.

Hi,
I am confused as to why the heating does not come on when I utilise the over ride facilty. The heating has not been used that regalarly recently, due to Summer, but still little concerned that this is happening.

Hi Sasha. Sorry to hear your having problems – its a little difficult to diagnose from your description. Assuming you still have hot water, it doesn’t sound like a drop in pressure. You may need to contact an engineer, be sure to provide details of exactly which boiler you have as this will help to ensure the problem is fixed ASAP.

I’m finding that my bolier is now needing to to ‘topped’ up on a regular weekly basis. Surely this isn’t right? Why is this?

Hi Ian, the only reason a boiler would need to be topped up regularly is there is either water leaking out of the pressure relief valve outside, or there is a leak somewhere on the heating system. In both cases I’d suggest consulting an engineer to double check. Hope this gets sorted for you.

My boiler was installed less than a month ago, since then the hot water pressure to our bathroom has dramatically fallen. It takes 25-30 minutes to fill the bath and if the hot sink tap is on the hot tap on the bath doesn’t even work. The cold seems to have lots of pressure. I had the installer out but they said it was an issue with the mains supply, united utilities have said this isn’t the case. Also the pressure dropped last night to 0.2bar when I attempted to top up (following the instructions) the boiler it started spilling water out underneath. This wasn’t from a single point but it seemed to be coming from within the boiler and out of the casing. Is this normal and if not could it be related to the pressure issue in our bathroom?

Hi Richard – I’d strongly recommend that you contact the installer again and arrange a call out. He can call our team who can talk him through a number of checks from your property. Best of luck.
