See you in Copenhagen!
Our latest website, www.yourhottopics.com, launched last week, pinpointing tweets on all the hottest topics in the world of Twitter. The site covers a range of topics; everything from our chances of a white Christmas, to practical energy saving tips and the latest news on the boiler scrappage scheme are featured, harnessing the views from people across the country.
Our latest hot topic focuses on the United Nations summit taking place in Copenhagen as of today (7th December) to the 18th December 2009. The leaders of the world’s 180 countries – backed by a 20,000 – strong army of officials, advisors, experts and journalists – will attend the meeting in Copenhagen to thrash out a new international deal to tackle climate change.
The talks are technically known as the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) – often abbreviated to COP15.
Whatever is agreed at Copenhagen will come into force on 1st January 2013, and supersede the last attempt to save the environment, the Kyoto protocol.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be highlighting the key issues from Copenhagen on your hot topics. This can be viewed nationally or by region. And, if you’d like to add your own thoughts on the conference, simply message @yourhottopics on Twitter including the #Copenhagen hashtag.
