Tomorrow promises to be our most energy efficient day at the office as everyone at Glow-worm takes up the Energy Matters 24 hour challenge, part of the nationwide ‘Act on CO2 campaign’. Throughout the day all employees at our home in Belper will be encouraged to think about ways in which they can save energy by switching lights off when they leave a meeting room or office area, making sure printers, scanners and computers screens are switched off when not in use, ensuring things are not placed in front of radiators and putting laptops into hibernation mode when in meetings.
Our aim is to reduce our daily energy consumption by 15% over the course of the day.
To find out about ways you can help to reduce your CO2 emissions visit http://actonco2.direct.gov.uk/actonco2/home/what-you-can-do/Reduce-your-CO2-emissions.html#a1. It’s so important that we all take action now, as more than 40% of the UK’s CO2 emissions result from the choices we make as individuals, we can take action on this global issue by reducing our own CO2 emissions.*
Keep coming back to our site and we’ll let you know how we did.
