Energy Efficient Boilers

If you’re looking for a new boiler, SEDBUK – Seasonal Efficiency Domestic Boilers United Kingdom (http://www.sedbuk.com/) – is something you should look out for. It’s the universal standard for rating boiler efficiency in the UK, with SEDBUK A and B rated boilers classed as high efficiency and any rated C or less classed as standard efficiency.

The higher the rating your boiler has, the less CO² you will be emitting into the atmosphere when you are warming your house, washing your pots or having a bath. In money terms by installing a SEDBUK A rated boiler, for every £1 you spend on gas to power your boiler, between 90p and 94p is turned into useful heat and hot water. With a SEDBUK B boiler this reduces to between 86p and 89p out of every £1 and for standard efficiency boilers this is even less.

All Glow-worm boilers are high efficiency, with the Ultracom and Flexicom models being SEDBUK A and the Betacom being SEDBUK B, making the most out of every pound you spend on your gas bill. Who wouldn’t want to save money at the same time as reducing their carbon footprint?

  • Tomer - “I just got one of these energy efficient boilers and although I didn’t see much difference at first, now that I’ve had it for a few months I can really tell the difference (especially on the bill :P ).”
