Boiler Scrappage Scheme Reaches Target
The boiler scrappage scheme in England has come to an end, with all 125,000 vouchers now allocated to homeowners. The scheme has been heralded as a great success by Lord Hunt, Energy and Climate Change Minister, by saving money off fuel bills and reducing emissions.
Recently published figures showed that, as at 16th March, 118,785 vouchers had been allocated and 35,390 boilers had been installed.
People now have up to 12 weeks after receiving their voucher to have work done and claim the £400 off the cost of installing a new energy efficient A rated boiler in place of their old G rated model.
Darren Finely, commercial director for Glow-worm: “The Boiler Scrappage Scheme has been a great success, helping homeowners to upgrade their old inefficient boilers to the latest A grade technology. As well as saving money for the homeowner, this upgrade also reduces carbon emissions so it is a much more environmentally friendly option.
“Whilst the official scheme has come to a close, we are committed to helping homeowners upgrade to the latest models. Our boiler calculator enables people to find the best option for their home, taking water usage and property size into consideration.”

admin - “Hello P Harvey
Our standard warranties are as follows:
2 years parts and labour on Flexicom, Ultracom and Ultrapower
1 year parts and labour on Betacom and
2 year parts and 1 year labour on Xtramax
If you live in Scotland or Wales then the offer of extended warranty still applies – if you live in England, then I’m afraid the offer has closed.
Thanks for your message – let me know if you have any further questions or queries.

R C Woodall - “If the boiler scrappage scheme was deemed a success, it seems reasonable that at a time of austerity it would be worthwhile to the country to extend it. Is there any official indication that extension or replacement with an improved scheme is under consideration?”

admin - “Hi RC Woodall
The Government has been urged to consider an extension (see http://news.scotsman.com/politics/Sarah-Boyack-urges-extension-to.6328676.jp) so its possible that the scheme, or something similar, may launch in the future.
There are other schemes out there to help – see http://www.yourhottopics.com to find assistance in your region.
Cheers, Sally”
