Boiler breakdown this Christmas?

It’s Christmas, its snowy and everyone’s got that festive feeling.  But what do you do if your boiler suddenly stops working?

It’s inevitable that you’re boiler will have problems at some point during its lifetime, although the chances of these problems occurring can be significantly reduced with regularly maintenance and servicing.  But what do you do if your boiler breaks down on Christmas or New Year’s Day?

Well, anyone with a sealed system should first check for water pressure and top up as necessary via the filling loop.

If you’re having problems with your heating specifically it may be because your radiators need bleeding (see our previous post on how to do this if you’re unsure) – this should always be followed by the topping of pressure (to around 1.5 bar).

Only do so if you feel confident that you know what you’re doing.   NEVER attempt to fix your boiler or mess around with gas appliances.

Please instead consult our approved registered installer list as many of them work over the festive period.

Yes, we appreciate that isn’t ideal if you’re boiler breaks down on Christmas Day – but please, take time to consider the consequence of what might happen if you mess around with your boiler and have absolutely no idea what you’re doing.  It’s simply not worth the risk to your own health and the family and friends that surround you.

Have a Merry Christmas and be safe.
